Keynote Lectures of the Mnemonics Summer School 2017
Frankfurt, 7-9 September 2017
We are proud to be hosting the annual summer school of the Mnemonics network in early September this year here in Frankfurt. The topic of this year’s instalment of summer school series is The Social Life of Memory. While the summer school at large is traditionally a closed event in order to facilitate discussions of the contributors’ projects in an intimate and supportive atmosphere, anyone interested in joining us for the three keynote lectures is very welcome to do so! Andreas Huyssen (Columbia University) will be thinking about Memories of Europe in the Art from Elsewhere (10 am; September 7); Aleida Assmann (University of Konstanz) will give a presentation on Frames of Transmission (9:30 am; September 8); and Anna Reading (King’s College London) will be talking about The Anti-Social Life of Memory.
