Master Class: Film Heritage, Archives and Memory

This Master Class is addressed to all advanced students, PhD candidates and PostDocs who have a keen interest in memory studies and film studies. You will have the opportunity to discuss the connection of film, archives, and memory with one of the internationally most renowned researchers in this field.

Dagmar Brunow is a Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at Linnaeus University in Växjö (Sweden). Her recent book Remediating Transcultural Memory (de Gruyter, 2015) is a contribution to the emerging field of media memory studies, offering new takes on concepts such as transculturality, remediation and the archive. Her current research project (financed by the Swedish Research Council, 2016-18) examines the creation of transnational and transcultural memories in national film archives. Dagmar is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Scandinavian Cinema (intellect) and the leader of the NECS-workgroup “Cultural Memory and Media”.
