Magdalena De Gasperi is a PhD candidate at the Institute for English and American Studies at Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main. She received her M.A. degree in English and American Studies from Goethe University in 2015 after completing her thesis on “Transculturality in Early Pound and Eliot.” She also holds an S.B. degree in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1976). After working in Marketing for large multi-national companies in the United States and Germany for over thirty years, Magdalena returned to academic life at Goethe University, where since 2013 she has worked as an English language tutor and teaching assistant, and has held several poetry writing workshops. In addition to her interests in modernist and contemporary poetry as well as English and American novels and films of migration, she is focusing on global modernism and periodical studies for her PhD thesis “Little Magazines 1910-1940 in Latin America and Beyond: Formations, Codings, Circulation.”
