Dear members and friends of FMSP,
I am very grateful to Anna Lena Sandberg and Tea Sindbæk Andersen, who nominated me for the honorary doctorate at Copenhagen University!
Memory Studies features strongly in their nomination text and therefore this is also a distinction for our relatively young research field. (For the University of Copenhagen press release, see here; for Goethe University Frankfurt’s press release, here).
Since 2011, the Frankfurt Memory Studies Platform has tried to build up the field of Memory Studies, with the help of many researchers from Frankfurt and the world. I hope that we will continue to be a home for memory scholars from many different disciplines and regions.
A big thanks goes to our Humanities Research Centre for hosting us all these years, and to Hanna Teichler for her vigorous co-leadership.
