To mark the centenary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses, The Consul General of Ireland to Frankfurt is hosting a Ulysses 100 exhibition at Goethe University from 17-31 October 2022. To launch the exhibition, award-winning author Emilie Pine will come to Goethe University on Thursday 20 October to read from her new novel, Ruth & Pen, which reworks aspects of Joyce’s Ulysses. The exhibition launch will be held in IG 411 (starting at 17:00) and will include an address by the Consul General of Ireland to Frankfurt, Anne-Marie Flynn, a Q&A with Emilie Pine and Professor Astrid Erll and Dr. John Greaney, as well as a wine and canapé reception. All are invited.

Zum 100. Jahrestag des Erscheinens von James Joyces Ulysses lädt das Generalkonsulat von Irland ein zur „Joyce 100“-Ausstellung. Die feierliche Eröffnung der Ausstellung findet am 20. Oktober um 17:00 (in IG 411) statt. Nach einer Ansprache der Generalkonsulin Anne-Marie Flynn wird die vielfach ausgezeichnete irische Autorin Emilie Pine aus ihrem neuen Roman Ruth & Pen lesen, der Ulysses für unsere Gegenwart neu erzählt. Im Anschluss findet eine Diskussionsrunde mit Prof. Astrid Erll und Dr. John Greaney statt. Zum abschließenden Empfang sind alle eingeladen.
