Bhagyashri C. Vyasaramacharya is a Ph.D candidate at the Department of Anglophone Literatures, Cultures & Media at Goethe University Frankfurt. She is currently a recipient of the Friedrich Naumann Scholarship. She was also a recipient of the GRADE Starter Scholarship. She holds a Master of Arts in English from St. Joseph’s College, Bangalore and a second Master of Arts in Anglophone Literatures, Cultures & Media from Goethe University, Frankfurt. Her doctoral project, supervised by Prof. Dr.Dr. h.c. Astrid Erll, is titled “Framing Memories of Colonial Violence: Tracing shifts in narratives of the Bengal Famine 1943”. This project traces the ‘travel’ of the famine memories and its shifting memorability, ever since its occurrence to present discourses. Her research interests include Anglophone literatures, famine studies, concepts of memory studies, as well as media & communication studies.
